23/10/2011 / Open Evening Review

Hello People,

First of all, all the members of Ramsbottom Model Railway Club would like to say a Big Thank you to everyone that turned up on Thursday Evening for our open evening. Espeically some of the East Lancashire Railway Working Members to whom some of the RMRC members also belong.

It was also nice to see Haslingden Model Railway Club who model in N gauge but also have done a local land mark in Haslingden.

Incase you were wondering, Alex King was controlling the Up line control boards and Daniel Jones was controlling the down boards with other members dotted around talking to our guests.

With all running we have managed to highlight area’s that will need attention in the future, including points not switching, area’s that derailed locomotives and rolling stock.

Oh and it was me that managed to take the level crossing gates off ….oops

With the open evening being a sucess and raising funds for our club, we have also managed to recruit a new member Adrian Heyes who is a local Ramsbottom lad. So hopefully we will see him next week fingers crossed.

We have added some photographs which can be viewed by clicking here and a video of the night which can be viewed by clicking here

On a serious note, We have to say a BIG Get well to our member Roger Wilson who has been in Hospital this week after suffering from a slight heart attack but is out now and hopefully making a full recovery.

Also a surprise appearence from Harry Dennis to the club again after an 8 week break.
